Site Search

• Searches website content, including content submitted to MITOWIKI and posts made to MITOMAP. Results are organized by section.
• Accessed from the box at the top of the page or at Site Search.
• Uses partial matching and is not case sensitive, e.g. searching for "wal" will return results for Wall, Wallace, Walton, etc.

Reference Search

• Tuned for finding references related to mitochondrial research.
• Accessed from Reference Search.
• Searches a relational database of data managed by the MITOMAP curator.
• Uses partial matching and is not case sensitive, e.g. searching for "wal" will return results for Wall, Wallace, Walton, etc.

Allele Search

• Tuned for finding mtDNA alleles.
• Accessed from Allele Search.
• Searches a relational database of data managed by the MITOMAP curator.
• Uses nucleotide positions based on the revised Cambridge sequence.
• Enter a single position or a range (up to 100 nucleotides).
• MITOMAP tables searched: Control Polymorphisms, Coding Polymorphisms, Coding & Control Mutations, Somatic Mutations
• MITOMAP tables excluded from search: Insertions, Complex Rearrangements, Inversions, Deletions, Multiple Deletions, Unpublished Submissions
• Provides a search of unpublished variants submitted to MITOMAP.
• Still under development. May later include results from other sources.
